VeraGene is proud to be a co-founder of two efforts helping people understand their genomes, for both personalized medicine and general interest uses.
SNPedia - the wiki about DNA variation
Promethease - Creating Your Personal Genomic Health Report
Promethease

SNPedia and Promethease are available for use for free by individuals for their personal use.

SNPedia is a website that shares information about the effects of variations in DNA, citing peer-reviewed scientific publications. It is used by Promethease to analyze and help explain your DNA.

Promethease is a program that creates a personal genomics "report card" for a person, based on comparing that person's DNA data to SNPedia. The program is downloaded and run from the person's own computer, ensuring privacy.

VeraGene has been involved in the creation and use of both SNPedia and Promethease, and provides consulting services to individuals or organizations interested in exploring these programs and their applications in more detail.
